Munich/Ried. Wintersteiger, the special machine constructor based in Upper Austria, introduced its latest product innovations for ski workshops and ski rental just in time for ISPO, the world's largest sporting goods fair in Munich.
The "Basejet", an automated base repair machine for skis and snowboards, automatically fills scratches and holes in bases with hot polyethylene material. The machine can handle up to 60 pairs of skis an hour. With the "Waxjet Eco", Wintersteiger presented a hot wax machine for skis and snowboards. The completely new infrared heating system not only saves up to 60% in energy costs compared to similar products on the market but is also impressive due to its very short heating time, accurate temperature control and consequently a perfect waxing result.
The "Trim B", a grinding machine that grinds the side and base edges of skis and snowboards, makes sharp turns possible. The compact unit was developed for all entry-level users but also as the perfect complement to an existing machine pool in the ski workshop. Wintersteiger also demonstrated innovative solutions for the storage of skis, poles, snowboards, helmets and clothing for ski rental and ski depots.
This year the sports industry came together again on the Wintersteiger stand for expert discussions at the now traditional "Branchentreff" on the first day of the fair. Secretly, however, the male audience in particular was eagerly awaiting the unveiling of the new erotic service calendar. Then it was a case of getting hold of a copy and having it signed by the models present. The approximately 450 dealers were then able to cool off again over cocktails and snacks served by Austria's national cocktail champion, Michael Thomas.
